A three-roll plate rolling machine is a shaping machine tool that continuously bends sheet metal into circular, arc-shaped, and conical workpieces within a certain range.

The six main structural components of a three-roll plate rolling machine are:
(1) Upper and lower rollers: These are important components of the rolling machine, made of forged high-quality carbon steel.
(2) Frame: There are two frames, one on the left and one on the right. The lower roller bearing is mounted on the frame. The frame contains a square-threaded lead screw, the upper end of which is hinged to the bearing seats at both ends of the upper roller.
(3) Reducer: A ZSY280 hard-tooth surface reducer is installed on a channel steel base along with a shim.
(4) Electrical components: All are installed in a control box for easy operation.
(5) Unloading device: Installed on one side of the reducer to balance the upper roller during unloading; unloading and recovery are completed by a hydraulic cylinder.
(6) Base: Welded from structural steel and steel plates. The frame, reducer, motor, etc., are mounted on it to form a single unit.

How to process conical workpieces using a three-roll CNC plate rolling machine?
1. Generally, plate rolling machines can roll cones with a small taper (30 degrees). The key to rolling cones is that the linear speeds of the large and small ends are basically the same. Since the linear speed of the upper roller is the same, the linear speed of the large end must be controlled. It is easier if a cone rolling device is available.
2. Raise one end of the tube on the plate rolling machine, place the small cone at the lower end, and continuously move the large end during rolling, increasing the entry speed of the large end. Add a side roller cone rolling device to one end of the roller. Install two cones on both sides of the lower roller of the plate rolling machine. During rolling, place the small end against the cone, and the edge of the plate at the small end will move inward against the cone. The rollers have a certain angle, resulting in significant lateral force during rolling. Therefore, lateral speed-reducing rollers are needed, and these rollers require hardening. If the diameter is small, the plate is thin, and the drum is long, the three rollers can be made into conical rollers, but the required curvature must be carefully calculated.
3. Adjusting the synchronous shaft and equipping it with a conical device. Before straightening the plate rolling machine, the straight edge of the drum must first be removed. The length of this straight edge varies depending on the model and type of plate rolling machine; refer to the equipment manual for details.
