What types of external axes are there in welding robots? Adding external axes improves the flexibility and accuracy of welding operations. External axes in welding robots include welding positioners, track-walking systems, vision tracking devices, nozzle cleaning stations, etc. These external axes work collaboratively with the welding robot to complete daily tasks.

Using welding robots can improve welding efficiency and help stabilize welding quality. However, a standalone welding robot has limited effectiveness on a production line. Adding external axes increases its flexibility. Welding positioners can flip workpieces, improving welding flexibility. Track-walking systems can expand the welding range. Vision tracking devices can track the welding position in real time, thereby improving welding accuracy. Simultaneously, nozzle cleaning systems can automatically clean welding slag from the welding nozzle, improving production efficiency.
External Axes of Welding Robots
1. Welding Rotary Table. Various specifications of welding rotary tables are available, including single-axis, dual-axis, and three-axis rotary tables. Different models can be used in different applications. The welding robot works in conjunction with the welding rotary table; after the welding robot completes welding on one side, the welding rotary table automatically rotates to the other side for the next welding operation.
2. A walking track system is a common external device used in welding robots. Because welding robots have limited walking distances, walking track systems are widely used. After installing a walking track, the welding robot can move along a set path, primarily used in automotive manufacturing, machinery manufacturing, and large-scale construction for large workpieces.
3. Vision tracking equipment. Vision tracking technology in welding robots helps improve welding accuracy. Most tracking functions can be used in conjunction with the welding robot's arc sensor to detect the welding position, thereby maintaining welding accuracy and stability.

4. A torch cleaning station is a device that automatically removes spatter from the welding torch of a welding robot. It ensures unobstructed gas flow and effectively prevents air from entering the welding area. Using a torch cleaning station, cleaning, oiling, and overall operation of the welding torch can be completed, greatly improving welding efficiency and ensuring effective torch cleaning.
These are the external axes of a welding robot. Installing external axes can improve a company's production efficiency. More and more industries are adopting welding robots and their auxiliary equipment in welding workstations and production lines to improve work efficiency.
