Several Ways to Handle Overheating of Plate Rolling Machines

Plate rolling machines and other types of sheet metal rolling equipment will generate a lot of mechanical heat after prolonged use. Overheating can cause irreparable damage to the equipment. Therefore, it is essential to protect the equipment and ensure that its temperature does not exceed the limits, thus preventing damage to delicate components. Generally, the following methods can be used to handle this:

1. Before starting the machine, check that the power supply and mechanical systems of the plate rolling machine are operating safely and reliably. Add lubricating oil according to the lubrication chart.
2. Check all parts for any abnormalities. Ensure that all fastening screws (caps) are secure. The brake should be in good working order and reliable.

3. After starting the machine, check that the rotation direction of the large gear of the plate rolling machine matches the direction indicated by the arrow. Only operate the foot switch after confirming that it is normal.
4. Strictly adjust the drum spacing according to the sheet metal thickness. Do not overload the machine. Do not roll or press workpieces exceeding the specified mechanical performance range.
5. Machine adjustments can only be made when the machine is stopped. During operation, no part of the human body should be placed inside the closed area of the rolling bed.
6. During equipment operation, if any abnormal situation occurs, operation should be stopped immediately, power disconnected, and relevant personnel should be contacted to find the cause and troubleshoot the problem.
7. After operation, power should be disconnected, the machine tool cleaned, and lubricating oil applied to the guide rails and blades.

After prolonged operation, the plate rolling machine needs a certain amount of rest. This is not only to allow it to recover from fatigue and regain its strength, but more importantly, to allow it to dissipate heat and cool down, preventing damage from overheating. Operators must master the above seven steps.
