Hydraulic Press Brake Operation Instructions
Hydraulic Press Brake Operation Instructions

A brief introduction to using a hydraulic press brake to process Q235 sheet metal:

1. First, connect the power supply. Turn on the key switch on the control panel, then press the oil pump start button. You will hear the oil pump running. (The machine will not operate at this time.)

2. Stroke adjustment: Pay attention to stroke adjustment when using the bending machine. Always test run before bending. Ensure there is a gap equal to the sheet thickness when the upper die descends to the bottom. Otherwise, it will damage the die and the machine. Stroke adjustment can be done electrically for quick adjustment or manually for fine adjustment.

3. Bending groove selection: Generally, select a groove width 8 times the sheet thickness. For example, when bending 4mm sheet metal, select a groove of approximately 32mm.

4. Back gauge adjustment: Generally, there are electric rapid adjustment and manual fine adjustment options, the methods are the same as for shearing machines.

5. Press the foot switch to start bending. Unlike shearing machines, bending machines can be stopped at any time by releasing the foot switch; pressing it again will continue bending. Bending Machine Safety Operating Procedures: 1. Strictly adhere to the machine tool operator safety operating procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment as required.

6. Before starting, carefully check that the motor, switches, wiring, and grounding are normal and secure. Check that all operating parts and buttons are in the correct positions.
Check the overlap and firmness of the upper and lower dies; check that all positioning devices meet the requirements of the workpiece.
7. When the upper slide and all positioning axes are not at their origin, run the return-to-origin program.
8. After starting the equipment, run it idle for 1-2 minutes, allowing the upper slide to move its full stroke 2-3 times. If any abnormal sounds or malfunctions are detected, stop the machine immediately, troubleshoot the problem, and only begin operation after everything is normal. 9. During operation, one person should provide unified command, ensuring close coordination between the operator and the feeding and pressing personnel. A bending signal should only be given after all personnel are in safe positions.
10. The sheet metal should be firmly pressed during bending to prevent it from warping and causing injury.
11. Power should be disconnected and the machine stopped before adjusting the sheet metal pressing die.
12. When changing the opening of the variable lower die, no material should be in contact with the lower die.
13. No one is allowed to stand behind the machine while it is operating.
14. It is strictly forbidden to bend sheet metal at only one end.
15. If the workpiece or die is found to be misaligned during operation, the machine should be stopped and corrected. Correction by hand while the machine is running is strictly prohibited to prevent hand injury.
16. It is forbidden to bend excessively thick iron plates, quenched steel plates, alloy steel, square steel, or sheet metal exceeding the machine's performance limits, as this may damage the machine.
17. Regularly check the alignment of the upper and lower molds; ensure the pressure gauge readings meet specifications.

18. In case of any abnormality, immediately stop the machine, investigate the cause, and resolve the issue promptly.
19. Before shutting down the machine, place wooden blocks on the lower mold below the side cylinders to lower the upper slide onto the blocks.
20. Exit the control system program first, then disconnect the power supply.
